My Epic Journey
Hello literature comrades, today I share with you my epic journey with great enthusiasm. My heart always dreamed from my childhood to know the lands of the old continent, but they are too long away and go there is very expensive, especially for a middle-class person from a country where the average income is one seventh of the average income in the European Union. But one day, after a lot of years saving money and words, I was able to write a poem long enough to cross the vast ocean, and I came to the land where the adventure began. Then, inspired by the spirit of Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama, Ferdinand Magellan, and Sebastian Elcano, I discovered Europe, and I began my exploration.
How to describe my experience? Getting there, to that land, was like get the paradise, like a breeze of light, a breathe of spring, an epic ride on horse, it was like discovering a lost golden treasure, a honey manna falling from the sky, it was like a red kiss of a white redhead girl or a warm hug of a blond princess, it was like a river of wine, a sea of pace, a moon bath, it was like a sun brightness, like reaching the horizon, like touching a star.
The adventure took me to glorious places and great times, I drank a coffee and talked with God in monumental and sacred cathedrals, I became an emperor residing in big palaces, and I ruled a castle as a duke, I defeated dragons, I freed pretty maidens, and I tasted delicious wines, I wrote romantic novels with sweet princesses and magnificent epics with fellow heroes; but I also ended up barefoot after braking my shoes because I walked a lot, I sleep among homeless people and in train stations, I spent sleepless nights walking by the streets, I faced the disease, the crime and even if I was so far, I could not escape from the dark death, no one could imagine that in the most sublime paradise, in a corner, was the cruelest hell, but its darkness disappear with the brilliant light of these blessing lands that fill my soul and make my heart happy. I was a saint and a sinner, I was a hero and a martyr, I was a stoic and a hedonist, I was Julius Cesar, and I was Diogenes, I was Hannibal, and I was Scipio, I was Pericles and I was Leonidas, I was Plato and Aristippus, I was Romeo and Jhon Tenorio, I was Odysseus and I was Achilles, I was Don Quixote and I was Dante.

I had the guide of my Virgil, a wise man who ordained me a knight, not in a inn, but in front of a church where a battle took place, and he was not a innkeeper, but a real knight, I saw with my eyes his noble title hanged in the wall, and he didn’t do it with his sword, but with his guitar while he sang a song, so this time they cannot say that they were just windmills accusing me of craziness, although perhaps there is a bit of it, because in a world like this, there is not more sanity than craziness. Paradise is found in adventure, and one only dare to such a feat in an act of joyful and brave craziness.
I also had the guide of my Beatrice through a field of pink roses, and it was when I saw her blue eyes like haven, full of that love that moves the stars and the sun, when I could feel, after passing through the nine spheres, the same that Dante feels when he entered in the light of the Empyrean Heaven and saw the face of God. But she let go my hand, and like Tuco Cardenas in “Usted”, I fell to the ground form that haven, I even lose the air, can you imagine, without breathing, on the Earth again. Juliet pierced her heart with the dagger, Dulcinea disappeared, I lost my chivalric books, and I had to return to La Mancha. I got my sanity back, but I did not fall into the disease, in fact, they waited for me happily like those who waited for Odysseus in his lands, and this temporary recovery of sanity allows me today to follow in the footsteps of Dante, Shakespeare and Cervantes, and I can telling you about my crazy, romantic and epic adventures until I regain the sanity that is in the craziness and then I embark on a new journey full of wonderful adventures.

From this journey, I may publish hundreds of more stories and poems in the future, and maybe even a book telling interesting anecdotes, how I survived finding shelter and food at critical moments, narrating in more detail the meetings with the most important people who most marked my epic story and who accompanied me in the most wonderful and intense experiences, I don’t know, it could be. However, wanting to share my entire journey whit you right now, in this collection and during the following months I will be sharing the adventures that took place in each one of the cities or towns, both those that I got know more in detail and those that I only visited in passing, and I will recount it with a poetic and epic brief and touristic description. Here you will find the city links:

I must also thank all the people who contributed to making this novel written in reality possible, my family, friends, the people I know and don’t know who supported me, those who helped me get what I needed to start the journey from here, those who helped me maintain my virtual job while I travel, those who assisted me along the way by helping me when I needed it most, who gave me a roof and shelter from the cold, who gave me food to alleviate my hunger, who guided me when I was looking for a place or a way to do something, who supported me every time I lost something important, who gave me their company, their conversation and their friendship, those girls who gave me their love, those people who shared their music with me, those who still couldn’t help me, received me with a smile and even tried to help me without success, those I met talking on the train or living in the shared rooms, those who gave me their number so that we could keep in communication and those who after a cordial and fleeting meet I will never see you again, I owe these wonderful adventures to all of you, because I am who I am thanks to the good people I have met on my way. I do not mention names because I could forget someone, and I even came to meet great people whose names I did not get to know, but to all of you my eternal gratitude.
